Shih-Hsin Hsu is a designer from Taiwan, currently based in Milan. He is interested in the unfamiliarity of things. The light and fluid reality that persists before more concrete connections between things are established.
In recent years, the ways in which we define and conduct our interactions have encountered unprecedented degrees of change. Almost all forms of expression are now instantaneous, pre-prepared, or remain oblivious to the contexts of our contemporary conditions. With so much choice around us, we also lose the opportunity to actually experience. What we are missing in this current state is a new script, one that can help us to better describe the relations between objects and ourselves, to help us seek out a new balance.
He is dedicated to dissecting the perspective of daily objects and space, and by seeking to uncover their original states, He might allow people to find what they miss in their everyday lives - thereby allowing for a productive questioning of these objects and the environments in which they exist. When things are released from rigid frames of definition, they become fluid, they return back to their original form, and they regain the power of their own possibility. This is the point at which the first allegorical footsteps of the journey can begin, and he think that it can lead toward a freedom we all should be seeking
